Sunday Habits That Set Yourself Up For Success.

If you’re anything like me, Friday is ‘fun day,’ Saturday is ‘Hangover In Bed‘ day, and Sunday is ‘Finally I Can Do Stuff ‘ day.

Let’s say I’m not the most productive person, but Sundays are my GYSTS day. That’s code for ‘Get Your Shit Together Sis’ days.

Of course, because I’m human, I rarely do all these on Sunday. However, it really helps to actually have productive weekends that set you up for successful weeks.

 Anywho, here we go.

01. Drink Water.

The first thing I do (almost) every morning is chugging some H20. Don’t let me lie to you, I drink a LARGE latte with lots of sugary syrups right after that..  but at least you’re starting your day off with a bit of a cleanse.

Stay Hydrated. That’s Key.

Drink water throughout the day to help keep your body cleansed and your mind alert. I promise you can still drink your coffee too. Shit, maybe throw a London Fog in the mix.

02. Clean Your Space.

Sunday’s are the perfect days to clean your space. Dust off your shelves, put away those clothes you washed 2 weeks ago, tidy your mess of a nightstand. Do it all.

Doing this routinely helps with not having everything pile up and make a HUGE mess that takes you all day to tackle. Which, let’s be honest, no one likes to clean. (Not really)

03. Cook Yourself A BIG YUMMY Breakfast.

Sunday breakfast is MY SHIIIT. I started looking forward to my Sundays ever since I started cooking myself a big yummy breakfast.

Of course, everyone asks, “Well, how are you even hungry after cooking it all?”  Well. Firstly, I am a chunk.. So. I’m always fucking hungry. Secondly, I really pride myself on having the capacity to not ‘eat as I go’ while I cook.

This breakfast is an easy and perfect form of self-care. It obviously doesn’t have to be breakfast time or even breakfast foods, as long as you prepare a nice meal with self-love.

A good way to start your week; looking forward to your next big yummy breakfast.

04. Reflection.

Take a few minutes and reflect on your past week, and check your previous goals. Did you achieve what you wanted? Did you complete all your tasks? Were you productive?

It is important not to feel like you have failed if you didn’t complete everything on your goals list during this step. You’re human, and sometimes you just aren’t motivated, don’t have enough time in the day, or don’t have everything you needed to complete a task.

Don’t be so hard on yourself.

05. Setting New Goals.

After reflecting, set your new goals for the week. These can be both career-related as well as personal care. By setting your goals for the week, you are giving yourself notice of things that need to be done so that you’re not scrambling Monday morning to figure out what you need to be doing. You’ll already know.

If you’re into manifestation or spirituality, you may also set your weekly intentions. Making sure that your weekly goals supporting your intentions.

06. Do A Task.

Now that you have your reflections, your goals/intentions, find a task that you’re not looking forward to or one that you’re just not wanting to do.

Simple. Do it now. Get it out of the way.

I know that you can’t do some tasks just yet, if that is the case, then choose the next one or the next one. Keep going down the list until you find one that you can do. Be productive just a little while longer.

07. Celebrate.

Yay! You completed a task off your list, you set your goals for the upcoming week, and you ate yourself a yummy breakfast. You can finally relax and celebrate your productivity!

This is a simple step: Reward yourself.

Whether that is eating some candies, watching a couple of episodes of your favorite show, read some of your books, or in my case, I do a full self-care pampering regimen.

08. Turn Off Your Phone.

This is really a two-parter.

Part I: Endless Scrolling is a disease. STOP! Do not get on your phone when you’re feeling bored or uncomfortable with life’s silent moments. Pick up a book, watch an interesting documentary, and finish what you were doing before getting bored.

Part II: Turn that shit off at night. It won’t kill you.
Monday’s are already rough as it is, so go to bed on time Sunday to get your beauty rest. I have a bad habit of wanting to play iPhone games while I’m lying in bed trying to fall asleep.

I’d recommend turning on Do Not Disturb, as well as ‘Downtime’ on your phones. This way, apps won’t notify you throughout the night, as well as messages/calls. These can all wait until the morning.

Look, I’m not saying you have to do these every Sunday, or even at all. I’m just saying when I’m having a successful week, it is because I did these things on Sunday and did my prep work.

Honestly, I urge you to find your own list of Sunday Habits that make your weeks successful. That is really what it is all about.

Finding your own path, and maybe just taking bits & pieces from others.
